Suet Lovers Wall Hanging Applique Quilting PATTERN (PDF file)
Your finished quilt will be approximately 12" wide x 20” high.
This summery bird lover's quilted wall hanging pattern with woodpeckers and a nuthatch, all lined up waiting for and perching on their favorite suet feeder brings the little birds right into your home! Using batiks or hand-dyed fabrics, or a variety of prints such as swirls, marbling, dots, etc., will make these little birds come to life. Everyone loves a fresh suet cake!
This easy to make applique quilt project is a great way to use scraps from your stash, but if you choose to buy new, it uses minimal amounts of fabric.
Easy to follow instructions for paper-backed raw edge applique, as well as instructions on how to make single-fold binding and a hanging sleeve. If you’re an advanced stitcher, you’ll breeze through this as well.
NOTE: This pattern assumes that you have a basic knowledge of applique and that you have a preferred method. THE PATTERN DOES NOT EXPLAIN ALL APPLIQUE TECHNIQUES IN DEPTH. There are so many types of applique - needle turn, freezer paper, fusible, etc. - that I could not possibly cover the basic "how to" of every available method in this pattern. There are amazing tutorials online! My pattern does indicate whether or not you need to add a seam allowance depending on your applique technique of choice, however, and it can be used for all applique types!
* This ePattern is recommended for beginners and beyond (beginners should have knowledge of their favorite applique technique) *
